Small Business Program
Apple's reduced-commission program: 85% of the customer price instead of 70%.
Apple's reduced-commission program: enrolled developers who earned up to $1M in proceeds the prior calendar year keep 85% instead of 70% (about 21% more per sale). For analytics: Apple's daily reports already state Developer Proceeds at the member's actual 85% rate, so report-derived numbers need no adjustment; the share only matters when estimating proceeds from a customer price.
The framing that undersells it: "15% instead of 30%". The framing that doesn't: your share goes from 70% to 85%, which is a 21.4% raise on every single sale, with no change to your product, your price or your marketing.
Enrollment is not automatic, and it is not retroactive. It also is not the only path to 85%: an auto-renewable subscription moves to the 15% commission once a subscriber accumulates one year of paid service, program or no program. Free trials don't count toward those days; paid intro and promotional pricing does.
For anyone building analytics on top of Apple's reports, the only thing to remember is the negative instruction: do not apply a commission yourself. The Developer Proceeds column already has.
